Message from Francesco

Greetings from Hong Kong!  I never know where I will be when it's time to write the next Breathe Deep newsletter, but I'm happy to flow the good energy from here through these words... Thank you for receiving!

I had wonderful time with my parents for the whole month of November and I thank all of you who sent your prayers of support.  I am forever proud of my Mom for integrating Qigong into her pre- and post- surgery practice and seeing how energy healing principles have helped her through a challenging time. When I left to come to Asia last week, I saw a woman commited to her own healing and staying positive, knowing the mental and emotional components to healing are just as important as the physical.

This has been a stressful time for many around the world and the various political situations in nearly every country on the planet seems like a mirror to the inner challenges people are feeling on a global scale.  It's as if we are being reminded to look inward, to "own" our Dreaming and courageously avoid the seductivity of feeling like a victim.  Whether that victimization is from a "government" or an employer, another person, or your own thoughts, falling prey to pointing to anything outside ourselves is so disempowering.  With the media's constant presence through TV and your browser, each of us has to be diligent and really look at how we allow ourselves to be swayed by others.

Personal practice like Qigong and Yoga is all about carving out personal time to "check in" with yourself.  It is time to quiet your body, mind, and spirit and realign with who you are at the core.  This introspective mindfullness helps us gently separate us from the barrage we get from life's challenges.  Even if your "monkey mind" continues to wreak havoc on you, at least you've owned it as yours... that's the first step to finding inner harmony and alignment.  Soon the "monkey" will have to rest... It may take gentle and intentional breathing... or repeated movement or stretching exercises.. it may take repeating a mantra (I particularly like the Dreaming Awake mantra :)) The beauty is that if you commit to this path, you will receive the benfits of a joyful and sovereign self, and be able to better navigate through this world while not being so affected by it.  This life is your Dreaming... enjoy as much of it as you can!

Check out this month’s Breathe Deep Qigong Practice Tips below that continues a series on energy points.  It’s my pleasure to share theses insights that come from my training with wonderful Master and from the workshops and Qigong Study & Healing Trips I teach around the world…

I thank all of you who have supported us and the non-profit Kahuna Valley organization through your purchase of our DVDs or attendance in our workshops or Study Trips.  It is my joy and honor to travel around the world and reconnect with friends this way… it really touches my heart.

I trust you will enjoy this issue of Breathe Deep… and I look forward to connecting with you soon.  Many blessings to you, your family and friends during this holiday season…

Organ Cleansing Instructor Certification

Typically, I only offer one Organ Cleansing Qigong Instructor Certification Training each year, and the one we just held for 2016 was in May. Our capacity attendance was reached - an we keep it to 15 people so that everyone can have a meaningful experience.  We keep the size of these workshops small and we are grateful for the wonderful group that assembled for this in-depth, 4-day training. Their 3-month, post-workshop training will be complete by the end of August and they will bring the number of our Certified Instructors around the world who met the prerequisites to teach this effective Qigong form to 135.  If you are interested in being part of the next small-group Instructor Certification workshop being held in Florida January 2017, please click here to let us know through our QigongTracker self-assessment.

Daisy Lee - Radiant Lotus Qigong Workshops

Daisy is busy with, including her big event at Eastover in Massachusetts. Check out Daisy's website to learn more about her upcoming classes...

Be sure to visit Daisy's Calendar Page on to learn more about her upcoming Radiant Lotus Qigong for Women workshops and instructor trainings.

The RLQ program is an empowering Qigong that can help to prevent as well as treat numerous health conditions unique to women such as menstrual cramping, low back pain, breast tenderness, tumors, cysts or fibroids, as well as menopausal symptoms like hot flashes, memory loss, reduced libido, mood swings and changes to skin, bones and muscles that result from hormonal shifts as women mature. Incorporating these techniques into their lives, women have an opportunity to blossom gracefully into their menopause years (or "Second Spring" as it is called in China!)

Francesco's Workshops

2017 starts with the 4-day Organ Cleansing Instructor Certification Training 19 - 22 January in Florida. A great opportunity to escape the cold and become certified in this powerful form.

Next in February is another chance to get a break from Winter and join an all-day workshop embedded in the week long Costa Rica Study Trip. This intensive will give Trip participants a chance to mix with the locals.

March will be busy shooting an upcoming television series, but April brings the next Bhutan Study Trip. Imagine a week-long immersion in the power of the Himalayas to practice Qigong and gentle Yoga....

In May we return to Warsaw, Poland to offer a lecture and showing of our Qigong Documenary (with Polish subtitles!) on 25 May followed by a two-day workshop 27 + 28 May. We are honored by the commitment of people in Poland to Qigong and I look forward to this workshop. Contact us to find out more and request our flyer in Polish language.

June will be an opportunity to attend a 3-day Qigong workshop in Umbria Italy with an optional 2 days to have a guided tour to sacred spiritual sites in Umbria and Tuscany.  Our workshop will again be at the beautiful, 17th Century Villa Pieve.

September is our 10th Annual Thailand Qigong and Yoga Study + Healing Trip.  These two weeks are an amazing deepening of your practice as they are matched with comprehensive holistic treatments every day... and this year we are adding the Yoga component thanks to Ambikha.

I hope to see you at (at least) one of these inspiring events!

Qigong Practice Tip of the Month

This Breathe Deep’s “Practice Tip of the Month” continues to look at “energy points” sometimes referred to as “acupressure points” or “acupuncture points.”  These “points” typically lie along the “jing luo” acupuncture meridians of the human body. I say “typically” since there are powerful points that can be found nearly anywhere on the body and don’t necessarily conform to what Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) calls “jing luo.”

Let's go down to our inner ankle, that protruding bone on the inside of either one called the maleolus. Place your hand flat on your leg with your pinky finger on the maleolus and the rest of your fingers iining up toward your knee direction. The width of your four fingers (pinky, ring, middle and index) mark the distance to a very powerful point named Spleen 6.  In Mandarin it is known as San Yin Jiao. This point marks the juncture of three Yin (San Yin) organ systems. Liver, Kidney, and Spleen meridians all line up here and create an energy vortex of sorts. Gently pressing this spot right next to, but not directly on, the bone (tibia) you will activate a strong Yin force effective in stimulating creative and sexual energies. Because of this, San Yin Jiao is useful for boosting intentions relating to this creative force, so much so that it is even indicated for male impotence.  Spend two - three minutes gently pressing this point in a circular movment, first one direction and then the other.  When you are done, gentle brush the area with your palm (Lao Gong poin) to smooth the energy.  Repeat this throughout the day, carrying a clear intention with the action, and switch between right leg and left leg as the point is the same on either.  I alway like to take a few minutes to close my eyes and meditate - or do a simple Qigong form like the Swimming Dragon - after working points to help integrate the healing.  Enjoy!

In the next Breathe Deep I will add another specific point that you can explore on yourself and others.  In the meanwhile, deepen your practice with the Dreaming Awake technique of transforming emotions into healing energy.  I wish you well on your journey… Peace…. Francesco
